What On Earth

You're driving to work. Not something you really look forward to. You turn on the radio to get your mind off of the (satirical) 'Start of a Wonderful New Day.' And then you hear him. Some kook is claiming to be an Alien. And we are not talking about an Alien from France or Sweden or Mexico. No! We are talking about an Alien from across the Galaxy. An Alien from the Cosmic Reaches. Or was that Comic Peaches? Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird brain! It's a head ache pain! No! It is Stupid Man!

You heard it on your radio. You heard it over you cell phone. You heard it from that goofy clown head at the drive through while you're ordering your extra-large coffee to keep you awake during your mind numbing morning. And not only did you hear him. You met him!

Why

I was born in the 1950's. I grew up appreciating nature. From 6 years old until a sophomore in high school I had pet turtles, snakes, hamsters, and others. I fed them. I kept them alive (and I think happy).

I was educated in the sciences. A stalagmite might reach the ceiling. A stalactite holds tight to the ceiling. A piece of metamorphosis was gneiss but we always took it for granite.

My career was in technology. I programmed telephone switches. I was fluent in COBOL, FORTRAN, C++, and various control languages.

I love philosophy, humor, reading, and thinking. I wrote songs like Allan Sherman and Weird Al Yankovic. In school I read to the public at The Upper Room coffee house. Now that I am out of school I read to the public at The Corner House.

I write a variety of science fiction, poetry, flash fiction, and other speculations. If you have any comments on what I write I would be glad to read them.

The whole world works together on many levels and working together is important to strive for. Plus a laugh here and there helps us through.
