The Photon And The Dog: Possibilities Journal from the DuPage Writers Group

The DuPage Writers Group makes available to the public volumes of their Possibilities Journal each year. These books represent a celebration of life and creativity by way of tools such as the written word as seen in short stories, essays, poems, letters and memoirs. Emotions are also displayed using visual artistic expressions conveyed through photographs, drawings, prints and other original art work. Each piece was created by the members of The DuPage Writers Group.

Volume 13, The Possibilities of Hope and Discovery, came out in the year 2018.
It is available for $12.00.

Previous Volumes, such as number 12, Sporting The Possibilities, from the year 2017, can be obtained for $5.00 (depending on availability).

Why

I was born in the 1950's. I grew up appreciating nature. From 6 years old until a sophomore in high school I had pet turtles, snakes, hamsters, and others. I fed them. I kept them alive (and I think happy).

I was educated in the sciences. A stalagmite might reach the ceiling. A stalactite holds tight to the ceiling. A piece of metamorphosis was gneiss but we always took it for granite.

My career was in technology. I programmed telephone switches. I was fluent in COBOL, FORTRAN, C++, and various control languages.

I love philosophy, humor, reading, and thinking. I wrote songs like Allan Sherman and Weird Al Yankovic. In school I read to the public at The Upper Room coffee house. Now that I am out of school I read to the public at The Corner House.

I write a variety of science fiction, poetry, flash fiction, and other speculations. If you have any comments on what I write I would be glad to read them.

The whole world works together on many levels and working together is important to strive for. Plus a laugh here and there helps us through.
